Our Story

I was sitting in Magdalena Bake, eating a gorgeous pastry, despondent that they were moving out of my neighborhood. I thought to myself, "Someone should move into this beautiful space and... I should move into this little jewel of a restaurant and offer soups, salads, and desserts." And thus, Bijou was born. We began by selling our artfully inspired soups at the Staunton Farmers' Market in April 2023. With the kind and enthusiastic support of dear friends, family, and our community, we opened Bijou Staunton at 614 West Beverley Street in January 2024. Our mission is to create healthy, delicious soups and salads that reflect the seasons and delight the palate. As for the desserts, who doesn't love a bit of decadence? In Bijou, we strive to create a warm and cozy environment reminiscent of the tiny eateries of Paris and Venice. We hope you enjoy our little endeavor here in the Shenandoah Valley.
